LECTURE SERIES
The Lecture series was initiated in 2020 as an avenue to invite renowned professors, economists, journalists, etc to present their views and have an interactive session with society members. The lectures provide members with an opportunity to hear from and engage with eminent speakers, as well as acquire a fresh perspective on their subject of study.
Dr. Abhijit Sen, a former member of the Planning Commission of India, delivered the second lecture on February 25, 2020. Dr. Sen is an expert in agricultural economics and has been a pioneering economist in this field. He discussed the necessity for agricultural changes as well as how they will aid the economy's recovery from its current slump.

OKONOMOS
Okonomos is the annual journal of the Economics Society of Hans Raj College. Not only does it highlight the kaleidoscopic hues of Economics but also expands the subject's traditional purview to include perspectives from the socio-political realm. It features many editorials, commentaries, and even interviews with prominent personalities such as Dr. Shashi Tharoor and Mrs. Geeta Gopinath. The writers in Okonomos deal with issues pertaining to human interaction, psychology, the banking sector, etc. and try to determine their economic influence. Presenting a potpourri of ideas, the journal welcomes articles from leading universities across the country and hosts discussion sessions for the students of the department.
RESEARCH PAPERS
The Department of Economics at Hansraj College promotes an atmosphere that values and encourages students to undertake research projects on a plethora of topics to outstretch their knowledge and dissect various aspects of the concepts they study in classes.The “Research Segment” is one of the department's newest initiatives, in which students' research on various topics as part of their SEC assignment is compiled for future reference.​​
The faculty assists students in understanding the scientific process of doing research and the procedures required. Students have repeatedly amazed everyone with their efforts and, using both primary and secondary sources, have contributed to the previously existent information.
CASE STUDY SESSIONS
Focused at the skill development of the members, the society holds case study sessions to provide a practical understanding to its members.
Under this, case studies and guesstimates have been taken up from renowned companies and sources such as Deloitte and McKinsey & Co and methods to solve them have been discussed by the members.Senior students who have experience with case studies have led the discussions and given feedback to the first years on their proposed solutions. Three such sessions have been conducted this academic year.
